PMG wins prestigious industry peer-voted award again

What a brilliant end to the year! Last week we were surprised by once again being voted Print Management Company of the Year at the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) Excellence Awards.

PMG directors Ellie and Mike Roberts attended the Expo and awards ceremony in Stratford Upon Avon on Thursday 2 December expecting to network with some contacts and let their hair down at the ceremony which Mike was compering.

But they were shocked and delighted when the sponsor of the most prestigious category read out PMG after opening the golden envelope.

Managing director Mike, who is also President of the IPIA, said: “It was brilliant just to be back in the room, catching up with old connections and making new ones. I had no idea we’d even been nominated for the award, so to win it – and by what I understand was a pretty clear margin – is a very humbling accolade.

“It means more because this award is voted for by IPIA members. The association is really keen on making sure the awards are robust, so it’s just one member, one vote. To think people took the time to vote for us is a pretty lovely thing.

“The whole industry has taken a beating over these past couple of years and PMG hasn’t escaped. But we’ve kept our head held high, stayed positive and have seen some really strong green shoots in the second half of this year.”

Commercial director Ellie said: “It just goes to show the resilience of our industry that more than 150 people got together to network, showcase their work, and forge relationships. Being up against other print management companies means the competition was both stiff and also worthy of celebration, so, once we got over the shock, we were just delighted to bring home the trophy again.”

PMG last won the accolade in 2019, having previously won it three other times, and been named runner up every year from 2012 to 2018.

Winners were announced in eight categories on the night:

– Print Management of the Year

– IPIA Champion Award

– Manufacturer of the Year

– Associate of the Year

– Sustainability Advocate Award

– Young Leader Award

– Innovation Masterclass Award

– Community Champion Award

The ceremony, with live music and a very high appetite from the audience for throwing some shapes on the dance floor, followed a day of networking and sharing industry expertise.

The IPIA is a print industry, not for profit, membership association. It fulfils a crucial role as an industry ambassador championing print through vigorous, proactive communication and education about print solutions and innovation to the wider market.

So, if you want advice from a multi-award-winning print management company with three decades of experience, you know where to come!
